LX Pantos breaks ground on mega-scale new Port Eco logistics center in Busan

LX Pantos has begun construction of the New Port Eco Logistics Center within the West Container Terminal’s hinterland at Busan New Port.

Scheduled for completion in December 2026, the facility will be the largest logistics center not only at Busan’s New and North ports but in all of Korea.

The project represents a US$80.2 million investment, with LX Pantos holding a 90 percent stake and LG Electronics 10% an unusual shipper-logistics partnership that highlights a new strategic investment model.

The hub will allow LX Pantos to consolidate LG Electronics’ cargo across the Gyeongnam region and offer tailored, end-to-end contract-logistics services including warehousing, inventory management, distribution, processing and raw-material sourcing to customers in a wide range of industries.

Busan already ranks second worldwide in trans-shipment volume and seventh in overall container throughput, and its importance is set to grow as the Arctic sea route becomes the shortest link between Asia and Europe.

CEO Lee Yong-ho highlighted that LX Pantos remains committed to generating greater cargo volumes and helping Busan Port ascend to the No. 1 position worldwide.
